The Church

Our History

Balfour Church has a long history of being a community of people who love God, love their city and desire to be a church that is relevant with an outward focus where all are welcomed.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission
At Balfour, we are committed to following the teachings of Jesus Christ in a way that is compassionate, and transformative. We strive to create a welcoming community that empowers individuals to grow in their faith and serve their community.
Vision
Our vision is to be a vibrant, dynamic community of faith that engages with the world around us. We envision a church that is open to all who seek a spiritual home, family and a relationship with Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

  1. God created. “In the beginning, God Created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) “All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made, that was made. (John 1:3)
  2. The Bible is the inspired word of God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
  3. All people are sinners. No one can can measure up to God’s standard for salvation. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3:23) “All our righteous works are the same as filthy rags.” (Titus 3:5-6)
  4. The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father (God), but by me.” (John 14:6)
  5. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.  “God is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance. ” (2 Peter 3:9) and “If we confess with our mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
  6. We have His eternal promise. “I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
  7. He is coming again. “We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
